Tobe Oval Baysinger, 68, Former miner, Resident of Cavendish

      OROFINO – Tobe Oval Baysinger, 68, a former miner, died Thursday at the Orofino Care Center of cancer.
      He was born May 27, 1916, at Delores, Colo., to Marcellous and Ella Baysinger. He grew up in the Cortez, Colo., area and worked in the mines there.
      In 1940, he moved to Kellogg and was employed at Bunker Hill. In 1964, he moved to Santa Cruz, Calif., and worked in the maintenance department of the Santa Clara County Girl Scout Camp.
      He retired in 1981 and moved to Cavendish to make his home.
      He married Marie Carlile. They later divorced.
      He married Crystal Powell at Teakean, Idaho, Aug. 4, 1956. She survives at their Cavendish area home.
      Baysinger was a member of the Evergreen Grange.
      Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Vernon Baysinger, Eugene, Ore., Gorem Byasinger, Milpitas, Calif., Norris Baysinger, Cataldo; a daughter, Venita Martin, Golden, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Sharlene Embree, of Lewiston; two step-sons, Larry Choate of Longview, Wash., and Stanley Choate of Caputa, S.D.; two brothers, Marcellous Baysinger Jr. of Fruita, Colo., and Ben Baysinger of Pinehurst, Idaho; four sisters, Rachel Ward of Oldtown, Idaho, Pat Ward of Jefferson, Ore., Hester Branson of Grand Junction, Colo., and Armenda Peabody, Cortez, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
      Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Teakean Cemetery. Marvin Preussler will officiate. Pine Hills Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
